Calling All Worrywarts

The moment I decided to make the Red Chestnut essence this morning, something weird happened. I began to worry. Quite a lot actually. As I was getting my essence supplies together (water, glass bowl, etc.) and making my way out to the tree, all of these apprehensions started popping to mind about the essence-making process.
What if a squirrel knocked the essence water over? What if the weather took a turn? What if someone came to cut the grass? What if I spilled the last of my brandy? Seriously, it was just one anxious thought after another - which really isn’t the norm for me (at least not when I’m making essences).
And then I remembered what the Red Chestnut essence is for.
According to Bach, Red Chestnut calms anxiety, especially when it comes to the well-being of a loved-one. If you find you’re worrying about someone close to you - your kid, your partner, your parents - Red Chestnut can offer relief by helping you let go of intrusive, negative thoughts. I find it pretty funny that making this essence seemed to trigger a cavalcade of concerns about the well-being of the essence, itself.
Good news! My Red Chestnut turned out just fine. None of the things I was afraid of actually happened. As I was pouring the essence water into a bottle with brandy, a puff of wind lifted a bunch of dandelion seeds into the air around me and carried them away - which seemed a great metaphor for what this essence can do to disperse a flurry of troublesome thoughts.
