I've been working as a freelance writer since 2000, helping individuals and groups develop creative and professional writing projects. In my free time, I write poems.
I have a B.A. in English Literature and an M.S.Ed. in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Bennington College.
My poems have appeared or are forthcoming in a few print and online literary journals including Gulf Coast, The Bellevue Review, The Bellingham Review, The Beloit Poetry Journal, The Comstock Review, The New Guard and the light ekphrastic. I've received the Meredith Scholarship for Poetry at Wesleyan University - and the Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Prize and Gulf Coast Prize in poetry. I was a finalist for the Knightville Poetry Contest, the Houghton Mifflin Fellowship at the Writer's Room of Boston, The Sow's Ear Poetry Review poetry competition and the Hill-Stead Museum's Sunken Garden Poetry Prize. My chapbook, Moon in a Locket, was published by Finishing Line Press in 2014.
I love working with writers on creative projects, and I'm equally excited to help organizations innovate, evolve and educate through writing. Here are a few past and present clients.

Jennifer’s work has been a blessing to my business. She has written copy for our website, catalogs and social media. She has an uncanny instinct for smooth, reader-friendly text. Her fine work has shown in our profit margin.
Founder of Delta Gardens
Jennifer created a dynamic writing retreat for our group of university-based professional developers. Her expertise and thoughtful approach helped us co-author a book and inspired our work as a team.

Jennifer has a keen ability to oversee the bigger picture of the creative process while carefully and intuitively unearthing the small, intimate moments of a story. Her insight and advice is thoughtful and applicable, which created a solid foundation for me to go back into the editing process with new understanding. She mentors with the same attention to detail that she applies to her own exquisite ideas and presents practical ways to approach creative obstacles. My work took leaps forward after our sessions, and I was able to see the storyline from a different vantage point. Jennifer is an incredibly wise and highly talented woman - it is impossible not to be a more cohesive writer after having worked with her. I could not recommend her services more.
